Retailers are discovering that our district is a great location because of its strong niches, charm, safety, parking, light rail and ability to tap the more than 340,000 people — with 46,000 households having incomes exceeding $60,000 — who live within a 15-minute drive. Many national and regional chains -- such as Avenue, Mandee, Joyce Leslie, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, McDonalds, etc. -- have already invested in our district.
Small firms have found that the Town Center is a wonderful office location because of its proximity to major business centers, reasonably priced office spaces, light rail station, 11 municipal parking lots, numerous good restaurants, safety, interesting specialty shops and pedestrian-friendly ambience.
Developers and landlords are discovering that the Town Center offers numerous opportunities for multi-use projects of all sizes. Major national players, such as Kimco Realty, have become stakeholders.
Current Businesses are encouraged to improve their facades. The BTCMC and the City of Bayonne offer a number incentive programs as well as technical assistance.
The City of Bayonne is business friendly. Its economic development staff “walks the walk” when it comes to helping new tenants and developers pass through the City’s permissions and approvals process.
Hudson EDC Loan Program
The Business Loan Program provides below-market funding to small businesses. These loans are blended to the Prime Rate.
Loans vary between $25,000 and $100,000 and may be used for working capital, purchase of inventory, machinery/equipment, and building acquisition and expansion.
Repayment terms are flexible and can range to a maximum of ten years. We have originated more than $3 million in loans to local businesses. |

New MicroLoan Program
We now offer a MicroLoan Program that provides loans to commercial enterprises with five or fewer employees. Call us to learn if your company is eligible. Loans can range from $5,000 to $25,000. These loans are available to businesses in Bayonne, East Newark, Guttenberg, Harrison, Hoboken, Kearny, North Bergen, Secaucus, Union City, Weehawken, and West New York. Application fees apply.
