April is National Poetry Month.

BAYONNE, NJ – April 17, 2006 -Unique Books, Herbert’s Amy & Navy, and the Bayonne Town Center are sponsoring the 2nd Annual Poetry Month Contest open to all students in grades 3 through 12.  Poems must be legible, printed or typed, be between eight and sixteen lines in length and must include contestant’s name, address, and telephone number and must be submitted by 8pm on Friday, April 21st.  Drop off your submissions at Unique Books 464 Broadway.  All the judge’s decisions are final.

The themes for this years contest are as follows:  Grades 3-5 “At the Circus,” Grades 6-8 “Friendship,” and grades 9-12 “The one person in my life who has affected me the most profoundly.”  Prizes will be awarded in each grade level.  First prize will be $25 Gift Certificate, 2nd prize will be a $15 Gift Certificate, and 3rd prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate.  Three honorable mentions will receive a $5 Gift Certificate.  All prize winners will be notified by telephone.  The award ceremony will be held at Unique Books on Saturday, April 29th at 1pm.  For more information, please call Unique Books at 201-436-4426.
