The BTC is brighter than ever this holiday season.

BAYONNE, NJ – December 12, 2005 - Holiday wreaths are hung along Broadway, beautiful lighted banners welcome shoppers to our district at 29th Street and 19th Street.  The trees within the Town Center, from 17th to 30th Streets, are illuminated with thousands of bright white lights. Many shop owners, residents, shoppers and visitors to our district have complimented the spectacular Holiday display.

In order for these decorations to be ready for our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony planning for these decorations was started in August. Mayor Joseph Doria was contacted to ask for the city’s assistance with this tremendous task. He immediately made arrangements for a meeting with Mr. Jim Mahon (Mayoral Aid), Mr. Frank Carine (Director DPW), Mr. Joe Mortola (City Electrician) Mr. Rich Teschic and Mr. John Pelligrini (City Electrician).  I cannot adequately describe the amount of support and assistance these gentlemen provided. Mr. Mahon and Mr. Carine, as always, made themselves completely available throughout the following months. Mr. Joe Mortola along with Mr. Pelligrini worked endless hours, starting in September, meticulously stringing the lights into the trees, checking, repairing and upgrading the electrical connections.  These talented men worked through the rain, cold and wind in order to bring the quality holiday display we now enjoy.

If you have not yet seen our “Broadway Runway,” bring your family and friends to stroll along the avenue.  Breakfast with Santa is on December 17th, 8:30AM-11:30PM-reservations are required.
